Dog Adoption

Tia is a special girl waiting for that special someone to come adopt her – how can you resist those big brown eyes? She is a calm, gentle girl who is attentive to her handler. Tia is used to living outside but also loves to be indoors around her people (and on their laps, given half the chance!) She has been known to do her Houdini impression so if left outside alone, she might go for a little walkabout! Tia has good basic obedience but is a big, strong girl so would prefer a home away from small children whom she would hate to bowl over accidently. She is a playful girl who loves a good game of fetch or a nice cooling dip in the water. She is good with dogs and cats but has yet to encounter livestock. Tia is a loving girl looking for a home where she can spend lots of time around her people as she loves all the company she can get!

Our Ringo is a real star and one of the fab (thirty) four dogs we have at the Shelter! He is a very friendly, gentle boy who loves attention and seems to do well with other dogs. Ringo is a happy-go-lucky boy who looks like he’s tap dancing when he’s excited! He is rather partial to his food and toys so would prefer a home with older children and people with breed knowledge. “Help!”, it’s been “A long & winding road” for Ringo, but “With a little help from his friends” at the Shelter, Ringo is well on his way to finding a new forever home. At the end of the day “All you need is love” and Ringo will provide his adopters with bucket loads of that!

Blue is a special boy looking for the perfect home to provide him all the love and attention he deserves. He is a friendly guy that loves people and is eager to please them. Blue is a quick learner who responds really well to positive reinforcement training and would enjoy attending classes with his new people. He is attentive to his handler, walks well on leash and will flourish with positive leadership from an experienced owner. Blue can be a little on the serious side but you can see he is dying to let his hair down and have his playful side shine through. He is an energetic boy who loves his walks and would enjoy an active home with older children. Blue can’t wait to curl up with his new people and watch a good game of hockey with his idol Don Cherry commentating – well who wouldn’t?!

Abby is a good looking girl and a great mid-sized dog. She is very energetic and always on the go so would love to live in an active household. Abby is house-trained and appears to be a quick learner who knows her basic obedience, although she can be easily distracted. She is a strong girl who responds to positive leadership and would do well in a home with older children and an experienced owner who knows her breed. Abby is waiting on a new forever home that will keep this great girl active and give her all the love and attention she deserves!

Pat is a really, sweet mid-sized dog and a very pretty girl too! She can be a little insecure and unsure of herself but is calm, quiet and very affectionate. Pat enjoys attention and would certainly see herself as a lap dog, given half the chance! She enjoys her food and would prefer a home with older children so that little hands don’t get in the way of her eating. Pat is attentive to her handler and walks well on leash. This is one beautiful blond your partner won’t mind you looking at adoringly and she’s sure to win everyone’s heart so come see Pat today!

Sophena is a wonderful dog who has the looks and the personality to match! She is a friendly and affectionate girl that is very much a love bug who likes to receive all the attention she can get! Sophena is a happy, energetic girl who is rather partial to her food and toys so may be reluctant to share them with little people. She has been around dogs, cats and livestock in her previous home and was good with them. Sophena is a great gal who would make a wonderful addition to any loving household and would be sure to get quite a few admiring glances!

Bosco is a BIG boy with just as big a heart! He is a little on the chubby side at present but is now watching his weight and upping the exercise regime with lots of walks and play time. We suspect he may be aspiring to the doggie equivalent of the Brad Pitt physique – he is a good looking blond after all and there’s nothing wrong with setting your sights high! Bosco lived mainly outdoors in his previous home but would probably enjoy spending time with his people indoors too, although he is a little unsure of hard floors. He is an easy-going and affectionate boy who seems to love everybody he meets. Bosco was good with the dog and cat in his previous home but was not so keen on the wildlife living nearby. Our boy Bosco is a really great lad looking for a fun and loving forever home that can keep him active.

Our boy Diesel is a big, strong lad who certainly has the looks too – just like his namesake Vin Diesel! Since arriving at the shelter Diesel has been brushing up on his good manners and is making great progress, which is a good thing that should be continued because he is a big boy with a healthy energy level, so polite behavior is important. Diesel has proven to be a quick learner and a fun dog to work and spend time with. He also has a playful side that is quite sweet and silly to watch. Diesel will do best in an adult home that is familiar with his breed and will have the time to spend keeping both his mind and body well exercised. He is a great boy who in the right home will make a loving and loyal companion. Diesel is listening carefully so he’ll be sure not to miss his new forever family when they walk through the door!

The north may be cold, but not our boy Yukon! With a wagging tail greeting all who meet him, Yukon is one happy go-lucky puppy who would love to be in a forever home. He has been around other dogs and has done quite well. Being a puppy, Yukon would need some basic obedience classes, but once completed, he will be the dog everyone wants. Yukon is a stunning boy who needs to be seen in person to really appreciate the blueness of his eyes.

Who could resist this litter of puppies? They love to nuzzle up with their sweet, black noses and have round little tummies that love to be scratched! They all have big brown eyes that are sure to melt your heart and if you come to visit them, they would love to thank you with plenty of kisses. Buddy is calm and friendly and a handsome boy too! He was unsure of himself when he first came here but has made great progress with positive leadership. Buddy is very good on leash and attentive to his handler. He is rather partial to his food and toys so would prefer an adult only home. Buddy is a friendly boy and once he is comfortable with you, quite the little love bug! Will our Buddy become your best buddy for life?

A salty dog cocktail will give you temporary happiness whereas our Salty the dog will provide you with years of pleasure! He is currently in one of our wonderful foster homes where he has learned to become a polite young boy. Salty can be a little cautious of new people but has been working on his self-control and responds well to treats and praise. He is a quick learner and loves to practice his commands and please his people. Salty has some of the typical American Eskimo “quirks”, so we are recommending he go to an experienced home with breed knowledge who can continue working on these with him. He is a really playful boy who loves water and has got on well with the dogs he has met so far, but can be a little fickle with our feline friends. Salty is looking for a calm and patient adult only home that will keep this active boy busy with nice long walks and games of fetch!

Well, what can we say about Blizzard apart from…what a little sweetie!! She came in with her 4 pups and now she has finished her motherly duties, she is eager to find a home where she can receive all the loving care she deserves. Blizzard is a gentle dog that is looking for a calm, quiet family that will help her build her confidence. She is a very affectionate girl who loves to cuddle and be near to her people – a complete love bug! Who needs a DQ blizzard when you can have our girl Blizzard who will provide you with years of love and devotion (and lots of kisses too!)?

With his movie star good looks and Prince Charming personality, Max is sure to charm his way into your heart. He is very gentle, calm and quiet, especially considering that he is still a puppy. Max is very attentive and will do great in puppy classes. He was found with another dog and really misses his best buddy. Can you give him a new, forever home and watch his star potential grow?
