Rehabilitation and Education Centre Capital Campaign

Keep up to date with our Building Compassionate Communities Capital Campaign!

The Need

The new Rehabilitation & Education Centre will allow us to better serve our community. Our existing educational programs are being offered from a location we have outgrown and will soon no longer be available to us, thus making the construction of the new facility urgent. Once built, we can expand programming to successfully serve our rapidly growing community.

How You Can Help

To date we have raised more than 77% of the $850,000 needed to complete this 4000 square foot building which will be constructed on the existing shelter property. please help us give the animals of Cochrane and surrounding communities a new leash on life by donating to the Rehabilitation & Education Centre. We are very grateful for your support.

Key Benefits

  • The Rehabilitation & Education Centre will provide educational opportunities, including training and behaviour seminars for the public, our staff and our volunteers. Public and shelter animals can partake in dog training classes, agility classes and behaviour consultations.
  • Our education programs currently engage over 500 children each year and continue to grow. Research shows youth education programs focused on empathy and kindness to all living creatures helps break cycles of bullying, animals cruelty and family violence, making education a CAHS priority.
  • Additional space will support the growing demands on our Pet Safe Program for victims of domestic violence and our Emergency Boarding Program for those families suffering personal hardship that need temporary housing for their pets.
  • Fee based programs and services offered will provide sustainability to the CAHS through consistent revenue generation.

Maisy

Adopted 2016

Maisy is doing wonderful (we kept her name since I thought it suited her). She is such a sweet-natured girl, and loves cuddles and belly rubs! She is starting to purr now when she is happy and around my boyfriend and I. The only time I’ve ever heard her meow though, was when we took her to the vet. Other than that, she doesn’t make a sound. I thought it was a little strange because I’ve always had chatty cats growing up, but I guess that’s just how Maisy is!
We could not have found a better cat to fit into our lives. Thank you so much once again.

Meet. Adopt. Love.
