Not only will your child have positive experiences with animals, they will learn about animal characteristics, how to care for our pets and how to be responsible pet guardians – all while having a lot of fun. There will be behind the scenes shelter tours, animal crafts and enriching games. Campers will also spend cuddle time with shelter pups and kittens if available.
Our summer camps are one week long and run 9:00am – 3:30pm. Before and after care are available at an additional charge. Children can attend multiple weeks as the camp curriculum changes each week. Please complete the registration form and email, mail, fax or deliver it in person.
For detailed information on our camps, please click on our Camp FAQs.
Summer 2017 Camp Dates:
August 14-18 Careers with Critters: FULL!
Interested in becoming a veterinarian? A K-9 police officer? Or how about becoming a dog trainer? Careers with critters will explore the different jobs where humans partner with animals. We’ll also explore the different jobs animals may have in our communities.
August 21-25 Purrfect Pets: 2 spots left!
Everything you need to know about pets! Children will explore what is needed to be a responsible pet owner, as well as what makes a good pet!
This is a fun and unique leadership opportunity for teen and adult volunteers who love animals and children. Applicants must be 13 or older. Volunteers need to have some experience and a desire to work with children age 6-11. Volunteers assist with prep work before and after class, clean up, assist with managing children’s behaviour, and supervise lunch and before/after camp care times. They also help the camp coordinator with animal lessons, art and games.
Volunteers can choose which week(s) they would prefer to work and must attend a training session. This training is mandatory for safety reasons.
All weeks are now full for volunteer camp assistants
We wanted to send an adoption/birthday update on Cosmo (formally Delilah) Cosmo is doing as wonderful as ever. She spends her days tanning in front of the windows or sleeping soundly on any piece of furniture or clothing she can find. She is still a bit weary of the family dog but for the most part they co-exist in peace. She and our other cat Bynx get along better and better everyday, even sharing tanning spots and sharing from the same bowl of food. Cosmo still talks nonstop and follows us wherever we go, she is very curious!
We love Cosmo so much and feel so grateful that no one else adopted her before us.
Thank you as always, for all you do.
