CAHS Instructors

The CAHS is committed to continued education for our professional dog trainers ensuring they are skilled in the best and most current techniques available. Our trainers attend annual seminars, workshops and conferences as available and are continually updating the curriculums of all our dog training programs. The CAHS also hosts an extensive library with the most current published books and DVD’s related to canine evolution, behaviour & communication, interactions & learning theory.

Tracy Keith
TracyTracy is the Executive Director of the Cochrane & Area Humane Society and a Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. She holds a Professional Membership with the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers.

In addition to being our Co-founder and dedicated and collaborative leader, Tracy has demonstrated achievement in the creation and management of a charitable society from inception through to a thriving operation with a focus on animal health & behaviour rehabilitation. Tracy is a passionate animal lover with a sincere desire to see pets remain in good homes and to ensure that homeless pets are successfully rehabilitated and placed in forever homes. Tracy has been training dogs in a shelter environment for 15 years and is committed to using only positive methods with both humans and animals. In her spare time she thoroughly enjoys and keeps active with her own four dogs and two cats. Tracy emphasizes helping people open the lines of communication between their pets and themselves in a fun and positive way that seals that human/animal bond!

Sheena Kinney
SheenaSheena is the Animal Behaviour Coordinator for the Cochrane & Area Humane Society. She is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers and holds a Professional Membership with the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers.

For the past seven years, she has worked at the Cochrane & Area Humane Society where she conducts canine behaviour assessments, rehabilitates dogs with behaviour problems, and coaches staff and volunteers on effective ways to use positive reinforcement when working with shelter pets.  For over a decade Sheena has participated in the sport of dog agility.  Her goal in teaching agility, and other classes, is to enhance the human-dog relationship, and for people to enjoy learning and have fun with their canine partner. As a young girl Sheena grew up on a farm and developed a passion for animals.  Today she shares her home with five dogs and an array of other fun, little, furry pets! Sheena is also a certified pet groomer, and has her pet first aid certification.
