Medical & Health
Your pet’s medical history and information is very important to us. If your pet is not feeling well (e.g., vomiting, diarrhea, etc.), please do not bring him/her to our facility as this may affect other guests to become ill. To ensure the safety and well-being of your pet, owners must inform us of any allergies, intolerances, sensitivities, illnesses, physical conditions and/or physical limitations. Please note that if your pet has a communicable condition (e.g., viral infections, or bacterial infections), or is in heat, your pet must remain absent from our facility until he/she has recovered.
Emergencies & Veterinarian Care
Should your pet require immediate veterinary attention, the CAHS will transport your pet to a nearby veterinary clinic. Please note, that as the owner, you will be responsible for all medical and veterinarian costs incurred.
Your pet must be fully up to date on vaccines and valid Vaccination Certificates or Titre Test Certificates issued by your veterinarian must be submitted as written proof. The required vaccines are: Rabies, Distemper, Canine Hepatitis, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza (DHPP). For pets with medical conditions (written proof required from your veterinarian), in which vaccinations cannot be administered, you may sign a vaccination waiver form at our facility. It is also strongly recommended that your pet is checked annually by your veterinarian, be on a worm prevention program, and on a flea/tick/lice prevention program as well.
Cats require Rabies & Fvrcp
*Cats must have their shot & vaccinations 2 weeks prior to their appointment. Dogs must have their shot & vaccinations 24-48 hrs prior to their appointment.
CAHS will accept puppies that are on a vaccination program with their second set of puppy shots completed. Dogs do not need to be neutered or spayed in order to attend our facility. However, we will not accept females in heat.
If your pet’s grooming is deemed unsatisfactory, notification must be made at the time of pick up, so appropriate changes can be made.
We schedule clients so that the dog is able to return home to their normal environment as soon as possible. However, if your dog must stay with us for more than 4 hours due to the owner’s schedule, there will be an additional $10 charge.
Hours of Operation
We are currently taking appointments on Mondays & Tuesdays between 9am – 6pm and Fridays & Saturdays between 9am – 4pm; the salon will be extending its hours in the future. Phone 403-932-2072 ext 110 to book an appointment.
The CAHS welcomes all dogs and takes a kind & patient approach with all of its pet clients including elderly, fearful and anxious dogs.
Mats are terribly dangerous for a dog’s health and can cause pain, injury, and lead to illness. Please keep your dog free of mats. If you cannot do it yourself, see a groomer frequently. Consider a utility-cut that is easy to keep mat-free.
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, we reserve the right to charge the full grooming fee unless we can find another dog to take your spot on short notice.
If we deem the winter road conditions not suitable for driving on the day of your appointment, we will notify you not to come and try to re-book you accordingly. No cancellation fee will apply if we make the call.
Maisy is doing wonderful (we kept her name since I thought it suited her). She is such a sweet-natured girl, and loves cuddles and belly rubs! She is starting to purr now when she is happy and around my boyfriend and I. The only time I’ve ever heard her meow though, was when we took her to the vet. Other than that, she doesn’t make a sound. I thought it was a little strange because I’ve always had chatty cats growing up, but I guess that’s just how Maisy is!
We could not have found a better cat to fit into our lives. Thank you so much once again.
