Meet Cooper, a fun-loving two-year-old boy with lots of energy, plenty of enthusiasm, and a whole lot of personality!

Cooper is a friendly, bouncy guy who likes to be right in the middle of the action. He’s looking for an active family who can give him plenty of opportunities to exercise, play, explore, and keep that busy brain occupied. A good combination of physical activity and mental enrichment will help Cooper channel all that youthful energy into being his very best self.

Like many enthusiastic young dogs, Cooper is still polishing up his manners. He’ll benefit from continued positive reinforcement training, particularly when it comes to impulse control and remembering that sometimes four paws really are supposed to stay on the floor! A group obedience class or equivalent would be a great way to practice those skills while building a strong relationship with his new family.

Cooper will also benefit from slow, positive introductions to unfamiliar people, places, and experiences. If there is another dog in the home, we recommend bringing them to the shelter for a meet-and-greet before adoption and continuing with gradual introductions once home.

Because Cooper can be a bouncy fellow, he is recommended for families with children 10 years and older, although this may be flexible depending on the children and family involved. Proper supervision between dogs and kids is always important.

If you’re looking for a sweet, energetic companion and don’t mind a dog whose enthusiasm occasionally arrives several seconds before his manners do, Cooper might be exactly the guy for you. Come meet him! ❤️
