Separation Anxiety Consultations

Say goodbye to separation anxiety

Does your dog become stressed and anxious when left alone? Do your neighbours complain about your dog barking and howling while you are gone? Are you coming home to your dog stressed and drooling, chewed furniture, and house-training accidents?

Your dog may suffer from issues around being left home alone, known as Separation Anxiety. This is a very real and serious panic disorder, and we would like to help you and your dog overcome this difficult but treatable disorder by gradually desensitizing your dog to being left alone.

Our program involves an initial virtual consult which will include an assessment of your dog to determine if their behaviour is coming from separation anxiety and to rule out other possible causes. Based on the findings in this assessment, we will work together to decide on the best plan for your dog, your family, and your lifestyle.

If it is determined that your dog suffers from separation anxiety and you would like to proceed with the program, training is conducted online to not affect your dog’s behaviour with our presence in your home. Our trainer develops a daily training plan customized for your dog and your family and guides you through the steps. Our protocol will help your dog learn to relax when left alone rather than panicking, but this process takes time and repetition.
