Meet Manuka, a sweet and sensitive girl who is looking for a special person to show her that the world can be a safe and wonderful place.

Manuka can be nervous in unfamiliar situations and needs time to observe, decompress and build a relationship at her own pace. Once you earn her trust, though, you’ll have the privilege of watching this gentle girl begin to discover just how good life can be.

Her ideal family will have previous dog experience and understand that confidence isn’t built overnight. Manuka will benefit from positive reinforcement, plenty of patience and slow, thoughtful introductions to new people, places and experiences. She’ll need multiple visits with her potential adopters before heading home so everyone can get to know one another and begin building that important foundation of trust.

One thing that may make Manuka feel especially comfortable is having a confident canine friend by her side. She could benefit from living with a well-adjusted dog who can help show her the ropes, so any resident dogs should come in for a meet to see if they might make a good team.

Manuka isn't looking for someone to rush her. She's looking for someone who will celebrate the little victories. the first time she chooses to come closer, the first relaxed nap in her new home, the first adventure she tackles with confidence. For the right person, watching those little moments add up is going to be incredibly rewarding.
