Murphy

Marvelous Miss Murphy! Sweet Murphy arrived at the shelter in really rough shape – extremely matted, underweight, and needing treatment for multiple infections. Murphy was unsurprisingly scared, but once she realized she was safe, we saw her blossom into a lovely and happy-go-lucky dog! That wasn’t the end of Murphy’s saga, however, as we realized shortly after her arrival that she was pregnant with a litter of puppies! Now that Murphy has finished her mommy duties and sent all her babies off into the world on their adventures, she is ready to find her own furever home. There are a few things to know about Murphy before you rush in to meet her. Murphy has epilepsy and will require medication to control seizures for the rest of her life. Secondly, poodle fur isn’t 100% hypoallergenic, so may still cause allergies, but does require a lot of grooming! We recommend any adopters do a bit of research on grooming costs before meeting her. Murphy loves to be around her people and has a hard time being left alone - her new family will receive guidance from our behaviour specialists on working with Murphy to increase the amount of time that she is comfortable being left alone. She has lots of doggie friends and would be happy to have a canine companion in her future home. Murphy still has her moments of shyness and needs an experienced, adult-only home. Murphy can’t wait to meet you!
