With those incredible blue eyes, Oakley might catch your attention first — but it’s his sweet, sensitive nature that will really win you over.

Oakley is an adult boy who is still figuring out this big, sometimes overwhelming world. Although new environments can make him nervous, he’s shown that with a patient person beside him, he’s willing to get out there and explore.

Oakley can become unsure when there’s a lot happening at once, particularly around unfamiliar dogs, busy traffic or new people. When something feels like too much, his response tends to be to stop and take it all in rather than react. Giving him a little extra space and allowing him to move on when he’s ready helps him relax and continue his adventure.

This sensitive guy will do best with a family willing to take things at Oakley’s pace. Slow, positive introductions to new people, places and experiences will help him build confidence, and positive reinforcement training will give him a wonderful way to strengthen his relationship with his new family. He may need a little time to show you everything that makes him special, so potential adopters should plan on meeting Oakley more than once before taking him home.

Oakley is looking for people who understand that confidence doesn’t have to happen overnight. Give this handsome boy patience, kindness and the chance to experience the world at his own speed, and you may just get to watch a very good boy discover how brave he can be. ❤️
